The iconic house located on a Bayou St. John island built in 1972 by architect Albert Ledner, had fell into disrepair. The new owner wanted to restore the house while adding to its notable design. The house’s iconic name is derived from the thousand of bottles of Cointreau used in various creative ways in the house design and architecture. The kitchen floor, however, lacked this detail, and so, the Terrazzo Masters were called in to fix that. The plan was to use an aggregate comprised of crushed Cointreau bottles to bring the house’s main design element and theme together. With the help of Glass Half Full, 750 bottles of Cointreau were smashed into 500 pounds of aggregate and integrated into the terrazzo flooring to create the beautiful custom flooring throughout the revitalized Cointreau House.
