New Orleans BioInnovation Center (NOBIC)
Challenge Solved
NOBIC was one of the first projects that helped trigger and revitalize what would become a new medical related buildings neighborhood in New Orleans. It is LEED-Gold research facility building with 100% recycled glass aggregate in a 0% VOC containing epoxy terrazzo system.

The poured-in-place concrete stair substrate was out of tolerance, so every precast tread and riser had to be adjusted to make up the differences in dimension. The stair stringer covers were made in our shop to cover the different mortar thicknesses. This was our first project where construction debris was sorted. 79% of onsite construction waste was diverted from landfills to be recycled.
