Coca-Cola Bottling Company
Challenge Solved
In addition to the “bubbles” framing being placed by hand and arranged to depict the rising “bubbles” in the famous soft drink, the color sampling process was extensive. Over 40 color formulas were developed, produced and reviewed in order to arrive at the final four colors used in the finished product. Interestingly, the hardest color to realize was the “Coke Red” color, as it had to be an exact match to the iconic soft drink’s brand color.

Terrazzo Masters were challenged to help The Coca-Cola Bottling company bring their vision of beautifully-branded flooring to life in their new state of the art facility. The design called for copious amounts of Coke Branding to be visible throughout the administration building, which required 8,000 square feet of 3/8″ epoxy terrazzo flooring and precast terrazzo base. The approved design would prove to be both exciting and challenging for our terrazzo craftsmen. To realize the design, which included over 400 stylized “soda bubbles” ranging from 1″ to 48″ in diameter, four terrazzo color formulas were utilized and paired with Mother-of-Pearl and recycled glass aggregates. The “bubbles” framing was placed by hand with the designer on site, and were arranged to depict the rising “bubbles” in the famous soft drink. Needless to say, the sample process was extensive. Over 40 color formulas were reviewed and samples produced in order to arrive at the final four colors used in the final product. Interestingly, the hardest color to realize was the “Coke Red” color, as it had to be an exact match to the iconic soft drink’s brand color. We are proud to say, this project qualified for LEED certification.
